Medway sports new honour

Medway joined the likes of Berlin and Budapest this month, staging a round of the Modern Pentathlon World Cup earlier this month.
Medway Park, which has been selected as a pre-games Olympic training came, successfully staged the city's first ever global sporting event.
The former Black Lion Leisure Centre is now able to host high profile events following its £11 million redevelopment. read more
Kent stays strong as business location

Interest in Kent and Medway as business locations has held up reasonably well despite the recession.
Locate in Kent, the agency that promotes the county for inward investment, admits it has been a difficult year but hopes to be close to its annual jobs and project target by the end of the month.
Locate in Kent chairman Sir Brandon Gough said it had been a difficult year. "But nevertheless, there have been some good transactions, rather better than we might have expected," he added. read more
St Mary’s secures new funding

Work has resumed on two stalled residential developments at Chatham Maritime.
Government Kickstart funding of £6.93 million has enabled development at St Mary’s Island to recommence.
The money is being used to build 102 of the 550 new homes to be developed on the island.

Medway Council is celebrating the completion of a ground-breaking recruitment programme which has culminated in five new jobs for the region.
