Residents consulted over transport plans

Medway residents are being asked for their opinions on the future of the area’s transport provision.
 
Over the next 12 weeks Medway Council is seeking feedback on the new Local Transport Plan (LTP), which runs from 2011 to 2026.
 
A series of exhibitions will be held in libraries and shopping centres from July to September this year, where people can give their thoughts on public transport services, cycle routes, public footpaths and what can be done to improve congestion and access to services. read more

Leader writes to MPs to block Thames Estuary Airport development

Councillor Rodney Chambers, leader of Medway Council, wrote to MPs at the beginning of this month urging them to join the campaign against an airport in the Thames estuary.
 
London Mayor Boris Johnson has proposed a £40 billion six-runway airport in the Thames estuary but Medway council sees the scheme as a pie in the sky plan that would ruin the area. read more

Councillor Carter bids to replace enterprise quango
