Medway Council and local team unite

by Natalie Vincent Tue 8 May 2018, 4:55 pm

League One football side Gillingham have secured a new sponsor in Medway Council, and will see its stadium renamed Medway Priestfield.

Leader of Medway Council, Alan Jarrett, said: "This is a partnership that will benefit the Medway community but place no burden on the Medway council tax payer. The community sits at the heart of this new partnership and I am delighted that we will be able to donate tickets to local people who might not otherwise get the opportunity of watching the club play."

This year marks 20 years since the council was formed, while Gillingham celebrates its 125th anniversary.
