Fireworks and re-enactments commemorated the 350 year-old historic Battle of Medway In June as thousands of people turned out to take part in this summerís 10-day festival.
The anniversary of the devastating Dutch naval attack on the River Medway and Chatham Dockyards saw dozens of events including fairs, history tours, craft workshops and art exhibitions taking place across Rochester and Chatham between 8 and 17 June.
The series of events celebrates 350 years of friendship between Holland and Britain since the raid. It culminated on the Saturday evening with a large-scale firework display at the water basins at St Mary’s Island, the Ship and Trades, the outlet centre and Chatham Historic Dockyard, with model ships depicting the assault against a digital backdrop.
