by Natalie Vincent Fri 18 August 2017, 4:51 pm

Two nostalgic stage productions are headed to the Central Theatre this October.

Former Strictly Come Dancing stars Jay McGuiness, Natalie Lowe and Louis Smith will appear in Rip It Up (5 October) be performing audience favourites including the swing, jive, lindyhop and even the jitterbug, not forgetting the popular ballroom dances. Set in the 1950s, the three stars will be supported by a cast of dancers, with live music provide by Radio 2’s Leo Green and his 1950s band.

The second offering is touring smash 9 to 5: The Musical, based on the 1980s comedy movie starring Dolly Parton (12 -14 October). Performed by Gillingham Dramatic Society Productions, the show follows last year’s hit staging of Sister Act.
