Work to start on lower Gillingham development

Tue 13 July 2010, 3:21 pm

Work is set to begin on the MHS Homes development in Gillingham, with the demolition of the former Four Brothers pub.
The site was purchased back in March 2010 and nine flats are to be built as part of the scheme, which is being delivered in partnership with Medway Council, The Chartway Group and the Homes and Communities Agency (HCA).
Emma Riddington, head of development at MHS Homes said: "The new homes are situated in a sought after area of Gillingham with easy road and rail network links over the county and to London.

"What’s more because of the close proximity to the River Medway some of the flats will have river views and all the new residents will be able to enjoy the public open spaces offered by the Strand public park and the river walks along the Saxon shoreline. We will be very excited to see these homes completed."

All the completed units will achieve a Level 3 Code for Sustainable Homes rating, and will be in place by the end of the year.
