The first properties have been completed on a 265-home development scheme in Chatham with others now available off-plan with the Help to Buy scheme.
Developer Countryside is proceeding on phase two of Horsted Park, which includes 202 one and two-bedroom apartments, coach houses and two to four-bedroom houses, as well as 63 extra care apartments.
The developer has started marketing the properties, six of which are complete. A selection of them are also available with Help to Buy, the scheme providing a loan from the government of up to 20% of the value of any home under £600,000, reducing the level of deposit required by the buyer to 5% and the mortgage to up to 75%. The scheme is meant to help people get into the property ladder.
Surrounded by open countryside, Horsted Park will include 2.6 ha of landscaped parklands, representing 30% of the site area.
Phase one of the development started in 2012 and was completed at the beginning of 2016, delivering 87 units.
