Social housing provider, mhs homes, has opened its Miller Way development in Medway.
The scheme includes eight three-bedroom houses to be sold for shared ownership and 11 one and two bedroom-apartments which the organisation says will be available for affordable rent.
On 23 October, mhs homes was joined by Kelly Tolhurst, MP for Rochester and Strood, and local residents, to mark the opening of the scheme.
The scheme also includes two apartments which have been adapted for use by wheelchair users. All homes have an allocated parking space and a private garden or balcony.
Chartway was the contractor for the scheme and sales agents Red Loft was responsible for marketing the shared ownership homes. A subsidiary of mhs homes, Heart of Medway Housing Association, received £412,000 of grant funding from the Homes and Communities Agency for the development.
Tolhurst said: “This new development is a great example of meeting local housing need and I would like to thank everyone that helped to make this scheme a success.”
According to mhs homes’ chief executive, Ashley Hook, the organisation intends to invest more than £37 million this financial year into affordable housing.
