Horsted Park homes for locals

Out of 87 properties to receive planning permission at Countryside Maritime’s Horsted Park development in Chatham, 80 have now been sold – 70 of which have been bought by people currently based within seven miles of the site, who are trading up to larger homes.
The scheme includes four-bedroom family homes. Of all units sold, 33% of recipients have made use of the government’s Help to Buy scheme, which provides an equity loan of up to 20% on the value of any property under £600,000. The homebuyer pays a deposit of five per cent.
Horsted Park is located less than two miles from Chatham station, which provides access to central London. Prices for a four-bedroom property start from £350,000 and homes will be ready for residents to move in to by September 2015.
Iain McPherson, managing director of Countryside’s new homes and communities south division, said: “The homes at Horsted Park have seen a lot of interest from young families, as the Help to Buy scheme can help them buy a larger home sooner than they thought possible.
“Families are finding everything they need in these house designs. They also really like the strong community feel the development offers to families.”
