A team from Medway Council has picked up a national award for managing building projects.

The Capital Projects team was given the Chartered Building Consultancy award for delivering schemes such as the extension of Medway Crematorium, the refurbishment and extension of the New Horizons primary school in Chatham and new lighting at Rochester Castle.

The award is given by the Chartered Institute of Builders.

The council’s deputy leader, Councillor Alan Jarrett, said: “It is excellent that the council has been honoured with such a prestigious accolade.

“Medway Council now routinely completes complex and innovative building projects on time and on budget and to high standards of quality.

“That is good news for residents as we invest in ambitious regeneration projects in Chatham, Rochester, Gillingham and Strood over the coming months and years.”
