Work on the first phase of a £5.5 million affordable housing project in Medway is to start in the summer.
Medway Council will work with contractor Chartway to develop affordable homes across Twydall and Gillingham.
For phase one, 23 affordable homes are expected to be built by the end of February 2015, with the remaining houses and bungalows due by the end of July 2015.
Medway Council’s portfolio holder for housing, Councillor Howard Doe, said: “We are pleased to be taking this important housing project forward with Chartway and to be building additional quality housing for people in Medway.”
The second phase will be discussed at a public consultation event this month (May).
