Medway joined the likes of Berlin and Budapest this month, staging a round of the Modern Pentathlon World Cup earlier this month.
Medway Park, which has been selected as a pre-games Olympic training came, successfully staged the city's first ever global sporting event.
The former Black Lion Leisure Centre is now able to host high profile events following its £11 million redevelopment.
Speaking exclusively to Medway1 Magazine Bob Dimond, project manager for the Medway Park, said: "The World Cup was a fantastic success. We always believed we could do it. We asked a lot of people to deliver, and there are many elements to staging an event like this, but I think we did everyone proud. It worked really well.
"It was great to bring a new sport to the people of Medway. The people really got behind it; there were kids playing sport, we had over 100 volunteers, and everyone wanted to be part of it."
