Go-ahead for flats scheme

by Jim Dunton Fri 30 August 2013, 4:28 pm

Medway Council's planning committee has given the green light for the demolition of redundant industrial buildings in Rochester to make way for a 24-home flats scheme.

McCulloch Homes sought permission to create a mix of two- and three-bedroom homes in two blocks at the King Street site.

Council planning officers recommended the part-three, part-four storey scheme for approval, subject to Section 106 planning-gain contributions totalling just over £89,000.

They said the residential re-use of previously developed land was acceptable for the site, and that the loss of employment space was not considered to be problematic.
