A mural depicting scenes from Chatham's past, its present and visions of its future has been created in High Street.
Artist Richard Jeferies worked with a team of volunteers to create the work, which is next to the Homestyle store.
The project, which aims to brighten up the area and help to boost town-centre footfall, is part of Medway Council’s “Developing Neighbourhoods Approach” programme, part funded through the European Regional Development Fund.
Councillor Jane Chitty, Medway’s strategic development and economic growth lead, said the mural’s creation had been inspirational and a genuine community effort.
“It’s been fantastic to see the positive response this project has had with more than 200 local residents picking up a brush and getting involved,” she said.
“I hope that shoppers and visitors to Chatham will enjoy it for years to come.”
