Berkeley Homes' Victory Pier development on Medway Waterfront has won a coveted property award.
The Gillingham development was named “best first-time buy” in the Evening Standard New Homes Awards 2013.
When it is complete, the development - which is being built on the site of a former chemical works - will have 775 homes, a hotel, moorings and a floating art gallery, all forming part of a wider project to transform eight miles of riverfront into an 8.000-home linear city.
Judges said that Victory Pier - the first phase of which featured apartments starting at less than £100,000 - offered “Docklands-style living” at an affordable price.
