Housing association sets out design principles

Fri 13 April 2012, 10:13 am

MHS Homes has launched a development design guide to set out its ethos on the construction of new housing.

Setting guidelines for housing design, sustainability and security levels for all future new build projects, the guide was developed with construction and property consultant Calford Seadon, which wrote, designed and produced the document.

The purpose is to establish a set of jargon-free, minimum standards and requirements for architects, consultants and contractors who work with MHS Homes on new schemes.

Caroline Proverbs, operations director at MHS Homes, said: “We want to lead by example on new build design to ensure that the quality of life of our residents and those living in our neighbourhoods really is at the heart of what we do.”

She said that the association had consulted with staff, Medway Council and residents on the guide.
