Aviation authority calls for more airport capacity

Thu 12 January 2012, 9:51 am

The Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) has called for increased airport capacity in the South East, raising further speculation about an airport in the Thames Estuary.

The CAA said that improving facilities at existing airports such as Manston was only a short-term solution.

The government will make its intensions clearer in an aviation strategy, due to be published in the Spring.
