Persimmon Homes seeks more Strood sites

Wed 24 August 2011, 3:57 pm

Persimmon Homes has marked its Medway Gate scheme in Strood as a top-performer and is seeking new sites in the area.
"This is probably our fastest-selling site in Kent," said sales director Julia Price.
The developer has six schemes in the county, she said.

The development (above) is situated near junction two of the M2 motorway and, crucially, the 18-minute HS 1 commuter train service to London St Pancras leaves from Ebbsfleet just a 12-minute drive away.

Speaking exclusively to Medway1, Price added: "It's very much to do with location and the improved railway transport to London. There was very little development there in the recent past so it's pent-up demand. We are definitely looking for more sites in the area."

Persimmon claims that a large proportion of Medway Gate customers are first-time buyers. One-bed and two-bed "Ravensbourne" apartments sell at prices from, respectively, £103,975 and £126,250; two-bed "Aylesham" houses are priced from £149,995.
