Construction and development firms met last week with Kent County Council and business representative bodies to discuss how to grow the Kent economy.

The event was chaired by Terry Mitchell, project director of Skanska Infrastructure Development UK and also heard from Paul Carter, leader of the council.

Businesses from the construction and development sector met with Kent County Council, Kent Economic Board and Kent Developer Group to discuss how their industries could help the Kent economy grow.

Carter said the construction sector was worth more than £1.7 billion in Kent, employing 30,000 people.
